Pepperell Sounds Off: The Frustration of Slow Play in Golf

Golf’s governing bodies are taking a stand against the frustrating issue of slow play, but Eddie Pepperell insists that more action is essential. The English golfer’s remarks come in the wake of growing discontent regarding the pace of play on the PGA Tour.

“It’s gnawing at me,” Pepperell expressed passionately. “To participate in a tournament and not finish within 4 hours and 30 minutes? That simply shouldn’t be happening.”

His comments coincide with the R&A and USGA unveiling a set of new rules designed to accelerate play. Yet, Pepperell argues that these measures may not be enough.

“We need to do more,” he warned. “At this rate, we might soon find ourselves facing five-hour rounds.

2024 Solheim Cup Friday pairings, matches, tee times, TV schedule

The pairings and tee times for the Friday morning foursomes matches at the 2024 Solheim Cup have been released.

The opening match will see Europe’s Leona Maguire and Sophia Popov take on Team USA’s Lexi Thompson and Mina Harigae.

Match two will feature Europe’s Nanna Koerstz Madsen and Madelene Sagstrom against Team USA’s Nelly Korda and Jessica Korda.

Europe is seeking revenge when they head to Kentucky for next year’s tournament after the United States won 15-13 on home soil in 2021.

The matches will be live streamed on NBC’s Peacock platform and televised on Golf Channel from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
