PGA Tour Champions Q-School Highlights Competitive Spirit
This year’s Q-School was held at Orange County National Golf Center in Winter Garden, Florida. The event attracted a diverse field comprising former PGA Tour professionals and international competitors vying for status on the prestigious tour.
Former Champion Leads Charge at TPC Sawgrass
Lanto Griffin made headlines by shooting an impressive final round of 7-under 63 at TPC Sawgrass’ Dye’s Valley Course. This performance propelled him to finish with an overall score of 20-under 260—just one stroke ahead of notable competitors Kevin Yu, Justin Suh, David Lipsky, Ben Griffin (not to be confused), and Michael Hebert—all securing their spots on next year’s tour.
“This is an incredible feeling,” said Griffin after his victory. “I’ve put in so much effort over time; it’s been quite a journey.” His determination paid off as he became the first former winner since Matt Every in 2014 to earn back his card through Q-School.
A Testament to Resilience Amidst Challenges
The strength of this year’s field was evident as several past winners competed fiercely for limited spots. Among them was James Hahn—winner of the Wells Fargo Championship—who finished strong but fell short behind medalist Kevin Yu after posting a final-round score of 67 for an overall total of -16 (272).
