The family of an Oakland County father is hosting a golf invitational to honor his memory and support local grief counseling programs. The event celebrates Richard Johnson’s life while providing emotional support for those in need.
On a sunny day at The Legacy Links Golf Club, friends and family gathered to remember Mr. Johnson,who passed away last year after battling cancer.His daughter Emily said, “We wanted to keep dad’s spirit alive by celebrating his love for golf.”
The Tee Time Tournament not only honors Richard but also helps others dealing with loss. Participants of all skill levels joined in the tournamentand proceeds went to grief counseling centers in Oakland County.
In addition to golfing rounds,there was a silent auction,raffle prizes,live music,and goodie bags filled with logo-branded towels,custom tees,and local merchandise. Volunteers from Oakland County Health Network (OCHN) were on-site providing support and promoting their grief management services.
