Derek Sprague Takes the Helm as CEO of PGA of America
The PGA of America has officially appointed Derek Sprague as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2023. He will be succeeding Seth Waugh, who is retiring after a notable 12-year tenure.
Sprague comes to this role with extensive experience in golf management and operations. As the current President and CEO of Troon, he has played a pivotal role in transforming it into the largest golf management company globally, overseeing more than 630 courses across 45 states and 35 countries.
“Derek is an established leader with profound insights into the golf industry and a strong commitment to innovation,” stated Jim Richerson, President of the PGA of America. “We are excited about his potential to elevate our organization further.”
