Kuchar shoots 64 again, leads by 1 at Wyndham
Matt Kuchar shot a second consecutive 64 on Friday to take a one-stroke lead into the weekend at the Wyndham Championship.
Kuchar, who won the event in 2019, birdied three of his first four holes and added four more birdies on the back nine to finish at 12-under 128. He is one shot ahead of Sepp Straka, who shot a 65.
“I’m very pleased,” Kuchar said. “I drove the ball well, hit my irons well, and made some putts. It was a good day.”
Straka, who is seeking his first PGA Tour victory, had a bogey-free round with six birdies. He is tied with Russell Henley, who also shot a 65.
“I’m really happy with the way I’m playing,” Straka said. “I’m hitting the ball well and making some putts. I’m just trying to stay patient and take it one shot at a time.”
