Rory McIlroy’s unusual shot at this year’s Genesis Scottish Open left him with a “very weird feeling.”
The four-time Major winner incredibly managed to pull off a remarkable feat – hitting a provisional ball out of a bush, then remarkably finding his original ball near a tree.
McIlroy opted to play the original ball, going on to bogey the hole, but couldn’t quite believe his eyes.
“You could see where my provisional ball ended up, and as we were walking down there I could see that my original ball was basically sitting next to the tree,” McIlroy explained.
“I couldn’t believe it, just to be honest. I thought there’s no way my ball ended up there.”
