Watching Tiger While Laughing At US Open Announcers

PineHurst US Open

Watching Tiger Woods right now making a mess out of Pinehurst #2 on Usopen.com live stream and literally lmao at the NBC feature group announcers blabbering on an on about 2 handicap golfers not being able to break 100 on the scorecard at Pinehurst #2.
Literally these two have no idea what they are talking about and I know because I shot 2 over par in a national amateur tournament on Pinehurst #2 in 2014. It was in the Acura Team Championships
which included a field of 240 amateur golfers from around the US that had to qualify locally to get in it. I was a couple seasons removed from a 17 handicap and never had a lesson and also NEVER PLAYED PINEHURST #2 ever before. Before you call BS there were walking scores in every foursome keeping your score for you. Don’t give me this song and dance that the tees were this distance and the greens are at 13 stimp etc. I still hover around a 2 GHIN handicap. The greens in 2014 were fast as a pool table and the temp was around 85 degrees so conditions were similar and fairways were like rock. Ended up with one of the low gross scores in the field and tied for first in gross. Lost on sudden death playoff hole on 18 that still plagues me to this day. Pinehurst had recently restored the sand areas with shrubbery and bushes like it was back when Ross originally designed it and I ended up in there on the left side waste on #18.

I would be willing to bet anyone in the world that I can break not just 100 but 80 from the tips at
Pinehurst #2 right now and I have not seen Pinehurst since 2014 and I am also nearing 60. BTW my +2 score on #2 in 2014 makes the cut today. Anyway those announcers need to get out and play once in awhile. Do not be discouraged by these announcers claiming you can’t do it. Anyone can do it! Believe in yourself! You can do anything! Have fun watching the US Open this weekend and hopefully hitting them straight out there on your local golf course!

Peace,

P.S. Yes we had to putt out EVERYTHING. It was stroke play.

Yes I walked it.

R.I.P. to one of our incredible caddies that day Willie McRae, legendary Pinehurst caddie.
