This step drill is 1 key to Xander Schauffele’s improved driving stats

This step drill is 1 key to Xander Schauffele’s improved driving stats

Xander Schauffele’s iron play has long been a strength, but after years of struggling with his driver, he’s developed a new tool to improve his driving stats: a step drill.

The step drill is a device that helps golfers find the correct angle of attack for their swing. Schauffele began using the drill in 2023, and he says it has helped him to shallow out his swing and make better contact with the ball.

The results have been evident in Schauffele’s stats. In 2022, he ranked 180th on the PGA Tour in driving accuracy. This year, he’s up to 12th. He’s also averaging over 10 yards more per drive.

Schauffele’s improvement is a testament to the power of a simple drill. If you’re struggling with your driving, it’s worth giving the step drill a try.

Xander Schauffele’s victory at the Masters Tournament on Sunday has complicated his chances of winning another major accolade: the Player of the Year award.

The award is given to the player who has performed the best over the course of the season, and it is typically awarded to the player who has won the most majors. However, Schauffele’s win at the Masters was his first major victory, and he will now have to compete with other players who have won multiple majors this season, such as Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.

Schauffele is still a strong contender for the Player of the Year award, but his win at the Masters has made the race much more competitive.
