Davie, Florida (LPGA) – Chris Beck (+5), of Canton, Ohio, won the 2022 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Floridian Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 17. His victory earns Beck invitations to the 2023 Masters and the 2023 U.S. Open.
Beck recorded the largest comeback in championship history, coming from five shots behind after 36 holes to post a 1-up victory over Derek Hitchner, 35, of Short Hills, New Jersey. Beck and Hitchner traded 1-up leads through the first 4 holes before Beck took his first lead, 2-up, with a birdie on the fifth hole.
