St. John’s Prep’s varsity golf team is gearing up for the 2026 Cape Cod National High School Invitational, where they aim to defend their title against a roster of tough competitors. The event is returning to the Cape Cod National Golf Club this Septemberand the team is putting in the hard work to stay ahead.
Head Coach Jim Carter says,“We’ve stepped up our training to include mental toughness exercises and practice sessions that focus on the unique challenges of Cape Cod’s rugged terrain.” The team is fine-tuning their approach to tackle the strong rivals they’ll face.
Coaches have also been offering valuable insights to help the team succeed. In a recent clinic, they emphasized strategies like reading greens effectively and managing the pace of play. “It’s all about the details,” Coach Carter advised.
The defending champions have some tips for success: keep a solid mindset, stay hydratedand build a strong team dynamic. They encourage all participants to approach the invitational with positivity and preparedness. Here’s some of their advice:
