Scottie Scheffler, the current world No. 1 will play at 1:41 PM with Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele. Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will play in the final grouping of the day at 2:29 PM.
**PGA Championship 2024: Tee Times for First and Second Rounds Announced**
The much-anticipated 2024 PGA Championship is set to showcase some of the world’s leading golfers. The prestigious event will kick off on Thursday, May 9, with the first and second rounds taking place at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
Tee times for the opening rounds have been released, with defending champion Collin Morikawa set to tee off at 8:41 AM (CDT) alongside Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm. Other notable players to keep an eye on include Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Tiger Woods.
Full tee times and pairings for both rounds can be found on the PGA of America website. Fans unable to attend the tournament in person can follow the action on TV or online via live streaming.
The 106th PGA Championship will be held at the PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas from May 13 to 19, 2024, marking the first major held at the newly-opened course. Jon Rahm will defend his title.
Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and Justin Thomas are among the other top contenders. The field will be filled out by a number of qualifiers, including the top 15 finishers at the 2023 PGA Professional Championship and the top 20 from the PGA TOUR University Finals.
Coverage of the tournament will air on CBS and ESPN+ beginning on Thursday, May 16.
Staff bags carry more than just clubs. They feature colors, patterns and logos that reflect a player’s personality or sponsorships. For the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, bags are taking on a new dimension with a “racing stripes” theme.
PGA of America Championship Director Bryan Karns says the idea came from a group text message with the equipment reps.
“We were spitballing ideas and somebody said we should do something with racing stripes,” Karns said. “And that was sort of the eureka moment.”
The bags feature a white base with red, blue and yellow stripes, as well as the PGA Championship logo. Players will be able to choose from three different stripe patterns: vertical, horizontal and diagonal.
“We’re excited about the new look for the staff bags at the 2024 PGA Championship,” Karns said. “We think they’ll be a great way to add to the excitement of the tournament.”
