Meissner maintains lead at PGA Tour’s Barracuda

Andrew Meissner fired a 7-under 65 on Friday to maintain a share of the lead at the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship. Meissner, who opened with a 66 on Thursday, sits at 13-under 131 alongside Ryan Armour and Tyler McCumber. The trio holds a one-shot lead over a group of five players, including 2015 FedExCup champion Jordan Spieth. Meissner, a 33-year-old journeyman, is seeking his first PGA Tour victory. He has one Korn Ferry Tour win to his credit, coming at the 2019 Savannah Golf Championship.

Perez eventually did what a lot of people thought he would do, chipping in for eagle on the final hole of the BMW Championship for a two-stroke victory. With a one-shot lead and needing only to make par on the par-5 18th at Cog Hill, Duval hit a wild tee shot into the trees, then hit 5-iron so far left of the green that it disappeared into the rough.

Silverman goes on birdie blitz for Barracuda lead

SILVERMAN, Calif. (AP) — It took John Daly four rounds and a 60 to win the Barracuda Championship three years ago. Nate Silverman didn’t need one low round, instead put together four solid ones.

Silverman birdied his first three holes of the final round and seven of the first 11. He finished with a closing 6-under par 66 on a windy Sunday to open up a three-stroke lead.
