How to play golf in extreme heat: 4 tips for playing your best

With soaring temperatures becoming increasingly common, golfers are being forced to adapt their game to cope with the extreme heat. Here are four tips to help you play your best in hot weather:

  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water or sports drinks, before, during, and after your round. Avoid sugary drinks, as they can dehydrate you.
  • Wear the right clothing: Choose loose-fitting, light-colored, and breathable fabrics. Avoid wearing dark colors, as they absorb heat.
  • Take breaks: If you’re feeling overheated, take a break in the shade or indoors. Cool down by drinking fluids or taking a cold shower.
  • Use sunscreen: Protect your skin from the sun by applying sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Reapply sunscreen every two hours, or more often if you’re sweating heavily.
