Coughlin earns Solheim spot with win in Scotland
Matt Coughlin has earned a spot on the European Solheim Cup team following his victory in the Scottish Open, held at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick. Coughlin, who began the final round with a three-stroke lead, shot a 4-under 67 to finish at 15 under overall, three strokes ahead of playing partner Adri Arnaus. Coughlin secured his victory with a birdie on the final hole, his sixth of the day.
This victory marks Coughlin’s second win on the DP World Tour, after his triumph at the Austrian Open in 2019. It also earns him a place on the European team for the Solheim Cup which will be played in September at Gleneagles in Scotland.
