Viktor Hovland Faces Uncertainty for Kapalua as Toe Injury and Coaching Change Shake Up His Season

Viktor Hovland’s toe injury has cast a shadow over his participation in the highly anticipated Sentry Tournament of Champions, and he has also made the tough decision to part ways with his swing coach following a challenging 2022 season.

Hovland aggravated his left big toe injury during the Hero World Challenge last month, leaving him listed as doubtful for the season-opening event in picturesque Kapalua, Hawaii. While the full extent of the injury remains unclear, it’s certainly a concern for the talented 25-year-old Norwegian.

In addition to this setback, Hovland has chosen to move on from his swing coach, Paul Lawrie, after four years of collaboration. The Telegraph reports that their split was amicable and that Hovland is now on the lookout for a new coach who can help him sharpen his consistency.
