Panthers WR Thielen leads Tahoe celebrity golf

Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen is headlining a field of celebrities and former athletes at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Thielen has been a standout performer for the Vikings in recent years, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2018 and 2019. He’ll be joined by a host of other celebrities, including former NFL players such as Steve Young, Jerry Rice, and Emmitt Smith.

The tournament, which is being held at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, is a three-day event that will feature a mix of competition and fun. The celebrities will be playing for a share of a $600,000 purse, but the main focus will be on having a good time and raising money for charity.

Thielen is excited to be a part of the tournament and is looking forward to competing against some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Thielen said. “I’m looking forward to playing against some of these guys and trying to win some money for charity.”

Rahil Gangjee, the other Indian to make the cut, was placed tied 50th after a round of 69.

However, Shiv Kapur and Veer Ahlawat missed the cut after rounds of 73 and 74 respectively at the tournament.

Korda’s withdrawal is a major blow to the AIG Women’s Open. She is the highest-ranked player in the field and was expected to challenge for the title.
