Maruyama named to International team as assistant
Toshimitsu Maruyama will aid Trevor Immelman of South Africa as an assistant captain at the 2023 Presidents Cup, according to Internationals captain Immelman. Joining Maruyama are Camilo Villegas of Columbia, Mike Weir of Canada, and Geoff Ogilvy of Australia. Immelman praised Maruyama’s “experience,” “heart,” and “knowledge of the game.” Maruyama expressed his anticipation for the challenge, honoring “the incredible tradition and camaraderie” of the Presidents Cup. He added, “I will do my utmost to contribute to the team’s success and share my knowledge with the players.”
