McIlroy to play less in 2025 after ‘hitting wall’
Reigning PGA Tour FedEx Cup champion Rory McIlroy, 33, intends to reduce his tournament appearances next season to attend the birth of his second child. The Northern Irishman confided to Justin Ray of Golf Channel that 2024 will be a “massive year” for him on and off the course, and that he plans to cut back in 2025. “I have come to a point where as I get older, family is becoming more and more important,” McIlroy said. “I want to be there for milestones, the special moments, the everyday sorta grind of being a dad and a husband. I want to be there as much as possible.”
