The 15-time major champion has not played a competitive round since the Open Championship in July 2022. After enduring severe injuries from a car crash in February 2021, he underwent surgery on his right leg in December 2022.

Woods made an inspiring comeback at the PNC Championship in December 2022, teaming up with his son, Charlie. He also participated in the Genesis Invitational in February 2023, where he finished 45th.

“I’m not where I want to be,” Woods reflected after the Genesis Invitational. “I’m still a long way away. I’m getting better, but it’s a slow process.”
