Olympic Golf Playoff Rules: What Happens If There’s a Tie for Gold in Paris?
If two or more golfers are tied for the lead after 72 holes of regulation play, a sudden-death playoff will be held, where fewer holes are played, starting with the eighteenth, to narrow down to one competitor to get the gold. The playoff will continue until one golfer has a lower score than the others on a single hole. The winner of the playoff will be awarded the gold medal, while the other golfers will receive silver and bronze medals, respectively.
