LIV Golf has made a significant announcement: Greg Norman is stepping down as CEO, with the dynamic Greg O’Neil stepping into the role. O’Neil, who previously led Discovery Golf and has a rich background with the PGA Tour, brings an impressive array of experience to this pivotal position. His deep expertise is poised to drive the league’s next exciting chapter of growth. While Norman was instrumental in founding LIV Golf, he will continue to lend his insights as an advisor. This leadership transition underscores LIV Golf’s commitment to refining its operations and solidifying its status as a formidable force in the world of golf.
Lydia Ko, 25, has set her sights on more than just Hall of Fame and a “full-circle moment” at CP Women’s Open. Aiming for her third major LPGA title, the New Zealander is focused on making history and leaving an enduring legacy in the game.
Ko, who became the world’s top-ranked golfer at the age of 17, is one of the most successful players in the LPGA. She has won 17 LPGA tournaments, including the ANA Inspiration in 2016 and the Evian Championship in 2015.
The CP Women’s Open is a special tournament for Ko. She played in the event as an amateur in 2012 and won it in 2015. A victory this week would be a full-circle moment for her.
“It would mean a lot,” Ko said of winning again. “I think it would just be a really cool story. I think it would show that the hard work has paid off and that I’ve been able to stay consistent over the years.”
