How to chip it close from around the greens with a hybrid

Hybrid Hacks: Chipping Close to the Pin

Chipping it close from around the greens requires precision and finesse, but what if you don’t have a dedicated chipping club? No problem! Hybrids offer a versatile solution, providing the length of an iron with the forgiveness of a fairway wood.

To chip effectively with a hybrid, position the ball slightly back in your stance and use a lofted club (e.g., a 7-hybrid or even a 5-hybrid for longer chips). Make a controlled, pendulum-like swing, focusing on keeping the clubface square through impact. As you approach the ball, ensure the leading edge of the club is slightly open to promote a higher trajectory. With a bit of practice, you’ll be consistently chipping the ball close to the hole, even from challenging off-green lies.
