If you’re an avid golfer who has struggled hard against slicing the ball, one of the potential adjustments you can make is to split your grip. Doing so will aid you by promoting an inside-out swing, offering increased control over the golf clubface.

To correctly execute a split grip, begin by positioning your non-dominant hand slightly lower on the grip than customary, often referred to as a “baseball grip”. This adjustment should prompt a more natural inward rotation of the clubface through impact, encouraging a straighter ball flight and minimizing the likelihood of it veering off-course.

It is worth noting that while a split grip can effectively counter a slice, it may not be a universal panacea for every golfer plagued by this slicing malady. “Golf is a game of individuality,” stresses PGA Tour Champions professional Joey Sindelar. “The most important thing to remember is that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Experiment with different grips and swing techniques to discover what works best for your unique physique and style.”
