Tiger in danger of missing 3rd straight major cut
Tiger Woods faces the prospect of missing a third consecutive major championship cut after a torrid first round at The Country Club. The 15-time major champion, who has been struggling with injury and form, carded a six-over 76 in the opening round of the U.S. Open. Woods, who is playing in just his third tournament of the year, struggled with his accuracy off the tee and found himself in the rough on multiple occasions. He also had several three-putts, which added to his woes. If Woods fails to make the cut, it will be the first time in his career that he has missed three major championship cuts in a row.
