Sergio Garcia Makes a Comeback to DP World Tour, Sets Sights on Ryder Cup
Former Masters champion Sergio Garcia is making waves by reapplying for membership in the DP World Tour, all in pursuit of his dream to compete in next year’s Ryder Cup.
At 42 years old, with an impressive 15 DP World Tour titles under his belt and a proud member of Europe’s triumphant team in 2018, Garcia took a detour in 2022 when he resigned to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Series.
Now, he’s ready to return to the DP World Tour with one goal: securing a spot on the Ryder Cup team led by his former teammate Luke Donald.
To achieve this ambitious goal, Garcia needs to climb back into the top 50 of the DP World Tour rankings by season’s end. Currently sitting at 52nd place, every shot counts.
Expressing his enthusiasm for this new chapter, Garcia shared that he is “excited” about rejoining the DP World Tour and eagerly anticipates “the challenge of qualifying for the Ryder Cup team.
