‘You’re always right’: Sergio Garcia scolds officials in failed Open qualifying attempt
Sergio Garcia Lashes Out at Officials in Failed Open Qualifying Attempt
Sergio Garcia expressed his frustration after failing to qualify for the 150th Open at St Andrews. Garcia made a late decision to try to qualify but finished nine shots behind leader Adri Arnaus on Tuesday.
Garcia criticized the qualifying process, saying it was “not right” that he had only practiced on the putting green before arriving at the course. He felt “rushed” and accused officials of being “wrong” in the 4-over-par round that cost him a shot at the Open.
Garcia’s comments come after he was seen arguing with officials on the course. He was heard shouting “You’re always right” and “You think because you’re an official you’re right.”
